The Story of the Prophet’s Hijra to Medina

Let me explain for those who are uninformed.

After the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his close companion Abu Bakr escaped from Mecca due to threats on Muhammad’s life, they sought refuge in a cave called Thawr on their way to Medina. They hid in the cave for three days to evade their pursuers. During this time, Abu Bakr was anxious about their safety, but Muhammad reassured him, saying, “Do not grieve, for Allah is with us.”

Despite the danger they faced, they were able to evade capture and safely continue their journey to Medina, where they were welcomed by the people and their followers, marking a significant event in the early history of Islam. This event is known as the Hijra, and it is considered a pivotal moment in the establishment of the Muslim community.

  1. I’m not a Muslim and I heard the story of the spider and the cave. I’m an atheist. If I believed in God, in a structured way, I probably be on Islam. I thank you for giving me a little more of the story. I just don’t know how true it is but I suppose it’s not so far fetched.
