The “New” Interfaith Library is here. Revamped and improved, and ready to serve a more diverse religious community, as well as opening up to a broader non-faith based community. The sharing of information and resources with our faith-based communities and our non-religious neighbors are now of equal importance to us.
This library’s environment, responsibilities, programs and services, commitments and obligations, and multi-faith organizational partnerships have grown. Thus, the look and mission of this library has evolved as well.
In the coming days and weeks, you will see a drastic change in religious dialog, spiritual academic access, upcoming events/classes, membership opportunities and new service availabilities. You will also be connected with cooperative community outreach programs that have partnered with this library.
Interfaith Library is now developing a board of trustees as well as a committee of religious academic advisors and administrators, all of which will be posted on the “About Us” page.
In summary, Interfaith Library is now more than a virtual religious library. It is also now an information routing depot, a resource and supply bulletin board, a cooperative religious dialog center, and a safe place to have healthy, honest and respectful discussions about faith and life.
Please visit regularly. Feel free to stay permanently. Our doors are always open.
Whoa! This blog is fantastic! I love reviewing and studying your articles. Keep up the good work! You should recognize and be aware, many persons are looking for this kind of information. You are a huge help.Thx.
Do you mind if I quote a few of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your weblog? My website is in the very same niche as yours and my visitors would definitely benefit from some of the information on your amazing site. Please let me know if this Ok. Thank you!
Dr. Epstein, I love what you have contributed to this site. I see you are the librarian of the Jewish page. I also have been perusing the Islamic page for a while now. Both religions intrigue me. I have been following Imam Mekye for some time now. Saying that, I looked at your personal blog. I appreciate what you shared; …“I have learned the critical importance of building important bridges of understanding instead of putting up walls. Hearing and SEEING each other and our truths is fundamental to who I am. …I engage and interact with regional groups of Multi-Faith sharing and an international group of academic scholars who are people of faith. We are Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, Hindu, and part of so many other faith communities as well. We know that we can celebrate what we share while showing respect and have regard for where we differ.” Is this why you joined the Interfaith Library? How can someone like me join this movement when I don’t ascribe to a specific religion? Is there a space for someone like me? I love what y’all represent.
Thank you so much for visiting this site and reaching out to me. This is such an honor to work with Imam Mekye and this amazing group of people. I have worked consistently through my professional life as a Jewish academic and observant adherent to build bridges of understanding and am always in my “happy place” when we are together as people of faith, confident enough in our own beliefs and practices to share them with others and learn about different ways of reaching out to God. We do invite all to join us and you can certainly participate in our discussions. We have space for all, because in the end, we all hold some system of beliefs on some level. Be sure to visit all of the pages including the one that indicates what events are coming up. Wishing you the best and looking forward to having you as part of this wonderful group of people who believe we are all part of the same human family.
