Welcome to the Interfaith Library. This is a site that puts forth an unparalleled approach to interfaith dialogue, spiritual learning, religious studies, while affording opportunities for understanding amongst different religions from a traditional and dogmatic point of view.
This site was created to be inclusive and interactive. The uniqueness of its function allows for multi-faith BELIEVERS to come together to converse (not to convert), as well as to benefit from its authentic, comprehensive unifying messages. Its design is intended to make interfaith dialogue easier, while encouraging respectful and healthy conversations regarding religious similarities and differences.
INTERFAITH UNITY…WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
WHAT UNITES US IS GREATER THAN WHAT DIVIDES US!
In the Qur’an, God gives us a simple message to live by; “Come together upon the things that we agree on, fore the TRUTH has manifested itself.”In the Hebrew and Christian Scripture, Book of Genesis, 12:3 we learn: All the families of the earth shall be blessed through you. In other words, be not divisive when the truth has been shown and/or demonstrated.
In the Qur’an, there is a verse in Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13) that conveys the concept that Allah created people with diversity so that they may come to know one another. The verse is recited like this and often translated as follows:
“Oh mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the view of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.“
This verse emphasizes the diversity among people and encourages mutual understanding and respect among different groups. It teaches that the differences in human beings are part of Allah’s divine plan and should serve as a means for people to learn from one another, rather than as a source of division or conflict.
The term interfaith dialogue refers to cooperative, constructive and positive interaction between people of different religious traditions (i.e., “faiths”) and/or spiritual or humanistic beliefs, at both the individual and institutional levels. It is distinct from syncretism or alternative religion, in that dialogue often involves promoting understanding between different religions or beliefs to increase acceptance of others, rather than to synthesize new beliefs.
Interfaith cooperation is the conscious bringing together of people from diverse religious, spiritual, and ethical beliefs. Interfaith cooperation can take many different forms. One example is Interfaith dialogue. This is when a group of people talk about their beliefs.
We live in an era or a place in time where being a spiritually conscious person is under attack. The modern flow of today’s existence has caused some of us to forget about Who put us here and/or why we are here. This is an introspective reminder for those who have forgotten. Just something to think about.
For those of you who have or are now following InterfaithLibrary.com, we are doing much more than teaching and disseminating information these days. We are trying to do what we think the right thing is to do. We are trying to be the example.
