In most major cities, in the U.S., Islamic communities are often visible and in plain sight. However, when I recently visited L.A., this didn’t seem to be the case. Then it became evident to me that culture, socio-economics and geography play a major role in the appearance of Islam in different regions. So, never assume because you don’t visibly see something that it necessarily means that that thing isn’t there.
