The 99 … (A Muslim Superhero Group Of Which Most Never Knew Existed).

“The 99” is a Muslim superhero group created by Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa, who sought to redefine Islamic culture and highlight universal values. The group consists of 99 superheroes, each with powers based on the 99 Virtues of Allah from the Qu’ran, including strength, courage, and wisdom.

The comic books have become a children’s website, animated series, and there are plans to create a theme park in Kuwait. In 2010, “The 99” teamed up with the Justice League in a six-issue crossover. The series aims to provide better role models for Muslim children and promote positive perceptions of Islamic culture. So, for those who are unaware…

  1. Wow! My sister and I are big superhero fan. Big Marvel people. We’ve never thought to think of Muslim superheroes. My sister once thought odd origins for superheroes but this wasn’t one. I can’t wait to share this with her.
